•Wj Fodderstack 10K date changed
The Fodderstack 10K Road Race, which has been run on the third Saturday in April since it began 11 years ago, will be run this year on the fourth Saturday, April 28. The change, according to the race sponsors, is due to a scheduling conflicts with a race in Charlottesville, which could cost the Fodderstack up to 30 entries. Organizers are looking for volunteers to help with the race, and interested residents are invited to attend the race committee's next meeting on Feb. 14 at 5 p.m. at the courthouse in Washington. The cash prize for a new course record has been increased to $300 this year, and was donated by** Virginia Savings Bank of Front Royal. Race entries this year are $10 before April 21, $12 after. Financial aid workshop
On Tuesday, Jan. 30, Rappahannock County High School will sponsor a financial aid workshop for college-bound seniors. Regina Pollard from James Madison University will present the workshop, which will include information Oh filling out financial aid forms.
