Floyd Grigsby has been named General Manager of the Wetsel Seed Company by Southern States Cooperative of Richmond.

Southern States purchased the Harrisonburg-based Wetsel in December, 1989 and has announced its plan to run the operation as a wholly owned subsidiary of the cooperative.

Wetsel offers a full line of seed plus lawn, garden and nursery supplies in Virginia, North Carolina, Maryland, West Virginia, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Delaware. The company’s total sales last year were more than $32 million.

Southern States is a six-state farmers’ cooperative offering a full range of farm, home and garden supplies as well as petroleum products and grain marketing.

A native of Rappahannock County, Mr. Grigsby is a graduate of Virginia Tech.
