Mr. and Mrs. Troy Baker and daughters Lesley and Raven, hosted a birthday dinner on Saturday, January 20, for Mrs. Mary Kindall. Guests were Mr. and Mrs. James Kindall and family of Front Royal, Mr. and Mrs. James Stuart and family of Centreville, Ms. Lynne Yancy and son Brendan of Culpeper and James Freeman.
Sunday visitors of Mrs. Mattie Ball Fletcher were Mrs. Bucky Slater and son Fletcher of Upperville.
Belated happy birthday wishes to Steve Ralls who celebrated his 14th birthday on Wednesday, January 17th.
Mrs. Matilda Walker, a former resident of Washington and a teacher in the Rappahannock public school system for years, now resides in Boulder, Colorado. From time to time, she sends tidbits of news to the Rappahannock News office for possible publication.
This week we received the following: Hill Walker, one of Rappahannock’s own, has become well known in the field of education for a program he developed for the handicapped which has been used in the United States and abroad. He was recently named to Who’s Who in the American colleges. He holds a PHD from the University of Oregon.
