Piedmont District representative Charles K. “Pete” Estes said he had heard from people on a private road east of Route 600 in Sperryville. The road serves eight residences and one church, he said. The residents had asked him to suggest that the road be taken into the state road system.
Mr. Moore said he would contact residents of the road to look into the road condition.
In Hampton District Fanning Baumgardner asked for improvements to six-tenths of a mile on Route 624 in Harris Hollow.
Mr. Gilkey said he had a letter from another landowner on the road supporting Mr. Baumgardner.
No one from Jackson District had any requests to make on road improvements, but Supervisor Ellis Bingham thanked Mr. Moore for helping move up plans for improving Route 640.
In Wakefield District Phil Irwin complimented the highway department on the job they are doing and recommended they continue widening bridges along Route 729. He said that Route 630 behind Foster’s packing house often is under water and suggested that the road bed be raised.
