Admiral Turner signs new book
Admiral Stansfield Turner, the retired former CIA chief who owns a home in Castleton, will sign his new book, "Terrorism and Democracy," at Down Un^er Laurel Mills Store, 1 p.m.-2:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 16.
Copies of the book will be available for signing.
Alumni basketball game sign-up
Rappahannock High's third annual alumni basketball game, which raises money for the athletic department, is holding registration. Call Kelly Settle or Cary Leake at the school, 987-8575, to register.
Four volunteers to serve as team captains are needed.

The Rappahannock Garden Club welcomes visitors to its Christmas Open House, 2 p.m.-7 pLm. Saturday, Nov. 23.
The club has decorated Whitcairn, the Williamsburg-style home of Col. and Mrs. James T. White in the Flint Hill area of Rappahannock to celebrate the Christmas season.
Punch will be served and candlelight will enhance the scene,as darkness falls.
There is no admission, no silver offering and nothing for s^le, just joyful j j respite as the sometimes hectic rush of the holiday season begins. Mrs. Charles B. Russell is in charge of the decorating with the assistance of many club members.
Directions: From Flint Hill, take Route 647 east from F&M Bank, go 3.3 miles to the house on the left (there will be signs).
Public schools closed Monday
The Rappahannock County public schools will be closed Monday, Nov. 18, as teachers have an in-service day.
