James Warner
James Sylvester Warner, 49, of Front Royai, died Friday, Nov. 8 in Gainesville, Fla.
The funeral was conducted Tuesday, Nov. 12 at the Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, formerly the SilcoxMerritt Funeral Home, in Cumberland, Md. by Bishop Gary Plessinger. Burial was in Hillcrest Cemetery in Cumberland.
Mr. Warner was bom April 2, 1942, in Hanover, Pa., the son of Marian Allison Warner of Great Falls and the late Roy Warner. He was owner and operator of the Victory Park Arabian Horse Farm in Front Royal.
Surviving with his mother are his wife, Cynthia Overdorff Warner; a daughter, Peggy Ann Warner of Front Royal; a brother, John Warner of Great Falls; and a sister, Connie Baker of Gambrills, Md.
Byrd Riley
Byrd Thomas Riley, 89, of Flint Hill, died Thursday, Nov. 7 at Elder Care Gardens in Charlottesville.
A graveside service was conducted Sunday, Nov. 10 at the Flint Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery by the Rev. Paul Davis.
Mr. Riley was the son of the late A1 and Louise Riley. He was preceded in death by his brother, Jim Riley and his sisters, Mary Louise Riley, Beanie Riley, Elizabeth “Dicie” Riley and Lena Riley.
