As town treasurer since 1978 (vie* „_yor as well), Mr. Fisher in many ways ; ’ runs the town’s day-to-day operations. By his own estimate, he spends 20 hours a week overseeing finances for the town, the / Water Department and many of the other little items that inevitably arise.
In addition to his efforts on behalf of the town, Mr. Fisher also drives 76 miles ■ each way, four dayB a week, to Potomac, Md., where he is lab director and head chemist for the Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission. ■ *
Mrs. Fisher, for 16Vi years a nurse with Rappahannock physicians Werner $|' Krebser and Jerry Martin, now works at Child Health Associates in Warrenton. >
In spite of it all, the Fishers are actually taking things a little slower these days, J- as both of their children are away—one in college and the other in medical school.
The continual stream of foreign exchange students that began with Rodrigo Sehiefelbein of Chile in 1979 (the county’s first-ever exchange student) has stopped, At least for the time being, and a few years ; back the Fishers stopped running calls with I Washington Fire and Rescue.
