Counties being shifted to the 10th District include Clarke, Warren, Rappahannock and Fauquier. Loudoun County will remain in the 10th District. The new district would be dominated by more populous Loudoun, western Fairfax and northwest Prince William counties. Those three counties would contain 68 percent of the district’s population.
The current 10th District is confined to Loudoun and eastern Fairfax counties. The new 10th would extend west to the West Virginia border and south to include parts of Culpeper County and part of Prince William County.
A new 11th District is proposed to extend into central Fairfax County and run south through Prince William, King George, Stafford and Caroline counties. That district, if it is approved, would have no incumbent representative.
Rep. Jim Moran, D-8th, would continue to represent eastern Fairfax County, Alexandria County and Arlington.
