Scouts collecting food
Scouts in the Shenandoah Area Council will be concluding their food drive this weekend, as over 4,000 members of the local council of the Boy Scouts of America participate in the Scouting for Food National food drive.
Last Saturday, area Scouts handed out more than 40,000 of the empty bags donated by Rich Food of Richmond, according to Charles Huntsberry, the local Scouting for Food Chairperson.
The Scouts have asked that donations be placed on front porches by 9 a.m. According to representatives of Shenandoah Area Council, anyone who did not receive a bag can still donate by calling the Boy Scouts of America, 703662-2551 or local Food Bank, 703-6650770.
