The Rappahannock Lions Club was recently honored with a visitation by the District 24-A Governor, Lion Louis Gilroy.

District 24-A includes over 70 Lions Clubs as well as the affiliated Lioness and Leo Clubs, which represent most of Northern Virginia from Fredericksburg, Alexandria and Arlington in the east across to Leesburg, Middleburg and Manassas and west to Warrenton, Culpeper and Rappahannock and most of the communities within that area of Virginia.

The Rappahannock Lion attendance was outstanding, with 95 percent of active members present. Two new members were welcomed into the club, Norman Getsinger of Flint Hill and Bob Naylor of Gid Brown Hollow. Gov. Gilroy personally officiated at the indoctrination and the “swearing in” assisted by District 24-A Lt. Gov. Warren Woolsey and officers of the local club, including President Mike Mahoney and new member sponsors
