Seal
The Rappahannock County Board of Supervisors is sponsoring a contest, open to all residents of Rappahannock County, to design a County Seal. Submissions should attempt to be expressive of the County's history, traditions, and aspirations, and should have devices and motifs consistent with heraldic conventions. The seal selected would be used on stationery, business cards, flags, vehicles, etc., as appropriate.
The initial round of submissions has been received with pleasure by the Board, but requests for extensions have resulted in an open period that runs until the end of November for additional entrants or refinements by previous submitters. Entrants are encouraged to remember that artwork must be reproducible for small scale uses.
Contestants are invited to submit camera-ready designs by NOVEMBER 29, 1991, to the Rappahannock County Administrator's Office at the Old Extension Office in Washington, for consideration by the Board of Supervisors at their meeting on Monday, December 2. Depending on the number of submissions, the Board will select the three most appropriate, and present them for public inspection.
All submissions shall become the property of the Rappahannock County Board of Supervisors.
