Del. Wood said he is unsure of the details of the bill and was unable to answer questions about how the vote among landowners will take place.
He did say, however, that districts created before 1989—Warrenton and Washington’s historic districts, for example—will not be subject to provisions of the bill. The Bristoe and Brandy Station districts, however, will be. Bristoe is in Prince William County, a few miles east of Catlett.
On another controversial issue, parental notification for minors getting abortions, Del. Wood voted against the bill that eventually passed and is now waiting for Gov. Doug Wilder to amend it or veto it. The governor apparently will not pass it unamended.
