The School Board voted unanimously Tuesday night to adopt the budget as presented by Superintendent David Gangel.
Dr. Gangel noted that he would have to make some changes even after the budget was approved because he had found out Tuesday afternoon that the state budget included an additional $4,095 for the pre-school handicapped grant.
This will increase the total of the budget to $4,791,526 and the state share to $1,248,114 but will have no effect on the county share of $2,731,240.
Dr. Gangel said the budget adopted by the General Assembly was based on an enrollment of 952 for Rappahannock. This means that the state’s budget does not include as much money for Rappahannock schools as are in the school budget. If Rappahannock’s enrollment is 1,010, the number the budget is based on, the
