Wade Settle Sr.
Wade Franklin Settle Sr., 67, of Flint Hill, died Wednesday, March 11 at the Warren Memorial Hospital. " The funeral was conducted Friday, March 13 at the Tumer-Robertshaw Funeral Home in Front Royal by the Rev. John K. Burke Jr. Burial with military honors was in the Masonic Cemetery in Washington.
Mr. Settle was born Jan. 21, 1925, in Washington, the son of the late Wade M. and Emma Eastham Settle. He was a U.S. Army vetem of World War II.
Surviving are his wife, Mabel Payne Settle; two sons, Wade F. Settle Jr. of Fort Valley Route Strasburg and William A. Settle of Front Royal; a daughter, Geraldine S. Settle of Culpeper; three brothers, Charles Settle of Washington, Warren Settle of Amissville and Robert Settle of Front Royal; and a sister, Mamie Heflin of Washington.
Pallbearers were Robert Elbon, Charles Currence, Garnet Largent, Brainard Coffey, James Compton and Charlie Elbon.
Archie Bailey Sr.
Archie D. Bailey Sr., 83, of Front Royal, died Sunday, March 15 at the Warren Memorial Hospital in Front Royal.
The funeral was conducted Tuesday, March 17 at the Maddox Funeral Home in Front Royal by the Rev. Richard McDonald. Burial was in Beahm’s Chapel Cemetery in Luray.
Mr. Bailey was bom Oct. 8,1908, in Fauquier County, the son of the late Ambrose B. and Mary Smith Bailey. He was a retired maintenance carpenter for Arlington Village and a member of the Front Royal Church of the Brethren where he served as deacon for many years.
Surviving are his wife, Frances K. Bailey; a son, Archie D. Bailey Jr. of Washington; a daughter, Joyce B. Evans of Winchester; a brother, Milford Bailey of Front Royal; five grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; a great-grandson and five stepgreat-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Harry Evans, Archie Bailey III, Donald Bailey, Richard Long, Steven Long, Daniel Bailey, James Kindall and Keith Tobin.
Honorary pallbearers were Samuel Davis, Billy Payne, Elmo Abbott, Lester Walker, Harold Payne -and Maywood Cornwell.

Anna Savilla Williams, 75, of Chester Gap, died Thursday, March 12 at the Warren Memorial Hospital.
The fUneral was conducted Sunday, March 15 at the Tumer-Robertshaw Funeral Home in Front Royal by the Rev. James W. Burke. Burial was in the Williams Cemetery in Chester Gap.
