The January unemployment rate in Rappahannock was 13.9 percent, up from 10.3 percent in December but lower than last January’s 16.1 percent, according to figures released by the Culpeper Office of the Virginia Employment Commission.

Of a total labor force of 3,362, there were 466 persons in the county looking for work.
