boundary adjustment to another lot. The two lots are on Wheeler Street on the north end of town. The subdivision and boundary adjustment leave Ms. Bruce with a 20-foot “pipe stem” from Wheeler Street into a 3.75-acre lot, most of which lies in the county, not the town. The application passed 6-0.
The evening’s third and final application was from the Rappahannock Recreation League. It had previously been before the council, which had deemed the plat insufficient. Last Wednesday no one from the league was present, so the council discussed tabling the application again.
On a motion from Mr. Gooch, the council amended its procedural rules to require the presence of either the applicant or a representative for future applications of any kind.
The council finally passed the application “subject to standard bond requirements" on a 4-2 vote.
The Town Council will have one final opportunity to provide input about the Subdivision Ordinance before voting on it next month. At last Wednesday’s meeting, discussion topics ranged from site plan requirements to grandfathered septic rules and the size of parking spaces.
Subdivisions approved prior to the adoption of the new ordinance, presumably next month, are grandfathered for one year, and for two additional years if the landowner specifically requests two 12-month extensions.
