students presented six fables from de la Fontaine in French. Colleen Harrell of Haymarket recited “Le Pont Mirabeau” by Apollinaire and Stephanie Tomeden of Flint Hill performed poems by Baudelaire and Verlaine. Two musical productions were included.
Michelle Paine and brothers Adam and Brent of Delaplane performed “Rigaudon” by Jean-Phillippe on the violin and cello and then Michelle played Debussy’s “Beau Soir,” accompanied by Music Department Chair Bonnie Williams on the piano.
At the end of the evening a raffle was held for international dinners at three area restaurants. Meals were donated by The Inn at Little Washington, The Depot in Warrenton and Casa Chimayo in Manassas.
