Heart walk planned
The American Heart Association's annual heart walk (formerly called turkey walk) will be held earlier this year to coordinate with hundreds of thousands of other heart walkers in over 450 cities in the U.S. The Rappahannock Heart Walkers will gather for the six-mile event at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 3 in Old Hollow just north of U.S. 211 on Route 612, Sperryville.
In addition to the benefits of improved hearthealth and enjoyment of the beauties of nature there will be prizes given, from T-shirts to TVs, to the walkers who collect contributions from friends and neighbors. Democrats to meet
The Rappahannock County Democratic Committee has scheduled its 1992 fall campaign kickoff cocktail social from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 3 at the home of Larry and Joy O’Rourke of White Walnut Farm. The committee invites the public to attend and meet candidate Ray Vickery who will be there to speak to the group. White Walnut Farm is located on 2.2 miles from Route 622 on Route 621.
