Besides Foster, the band includes Duane Compton on mandolin, Tom Foley on bass and Billy Houchins on guitar. Foster lives in Bristol and the other three are from Richlands, Va.
Foster who grew up in Rappahannock, graduated from Rappahannock High School and VPI with a degree in mechanical engineering. He. has been with the band only four months.
“We are understandably very proud of Jeff,” said Mrs. Foster, a retired teacher’s aid here in the county. “He loves this music so much, although I have to admit I hope he won’t quit his real job, just yet anyway.”
