The town of Washington’s Planning Commission voted unanimously on Monday night to recommend to the Town Council that the town of Washington be exempt from the zoning ordinance for the village residential district where the Town Hall is located. The Planning Commission was asked by the Town Council to make recommendations to the Council regarding the uses to which the Town Hall can and should be put.

By exempting the town from the zoning ordinance, the town would then be limited as to use of the Town Hall by its sensitivity to the needs and wishes of the citizens, said Town Attorney Frank Reynolds in a memo to the Planning Commission, outlining four various options for use of
