Committee chairman Louise Van Dort commented that the Town Hall doesn’t lend itself to many types of functions because it has no food preparation area and minimal restroom facilities.
Committee member Susan Parrish added that there was a lack of parking as well.
Ms. Van Dort -added that the acoustics in the Town Hall did not lend themselves to musical functions.
In other matters, the Planning Commission decided that in preparation for the final revision of the town zoning ordinance, Ms. Van Dort would gather copies of all amendments added since 1986 and enter them into her computer. She also said she will get a copy of the complete ordinance. All of the information will go on computer disk.
Ms. Parrish expressed concern about state amendments “that we might not know about.”
The Commission voted to request all changes in law from Planning District 9 in order to bring the ordinance up to date. It was decided that the Commission would ask the Town Council for $1,200 to pay for the service.
