Last call for registering
Saturday, Oct. 3 is the last day for residents to register to be eligible to vote in the upcoming election. Registrar Nancy Leake’s office will be open from 0 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday for last-minute registrants. The registrar’s regular hours are 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. The Registrar’s Office will also be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturdays, Oct. 3,24 and 30 for absentee voters to cast ballots. Festival scheduled
The Sperry ville Apple Harvest Festival is scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 8-4. The public is invited to come share this fall celebration which will include antique sales, balloon ride, good food, fine art, various craft demonstrations, children’s games and a special appearance by John Jackson.
• Washington Town Council will meet at 7:80 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 14 at the Courthouse.
