Guest Speaker at
Assembly of God
Rev. Hans Theerman, newly approved assemblies of God missionary to Germany, will be the guest speaker at Assembly of God in Sperryville at 7 p.m. on Sunday, July 11 according the Rev. Campbell, pastor.
Hans was a baby when his family left eastern Germany in 1947, escaping the communist regime that would rule the region for more than 40 years. Hans has made brief visits to both East and West Germany, most recently with his wife, Dee, on their honeymoon. “It was like driving into a prison,” he recalls. “Since 1979,” he explains, “I have felt the call to return to Germany in ministry-specifically to the east. This was reinforced during our honeymoon in 1981, but became a possibility when the two Germanys moved towards unification.”
