One of the reasons that we have succeeded is that we have recognized that the freedoms which we enjoy also carry with them responsibilities. For example the freedom to worship God, according to the dictates of our conscience, carries with it the responsibility to allow to all others the same freedom, no matter how wrongheaded or ungodly their worship seems to us. The freedom of speech carries with it a similar responsibility, to allow others the same right, no matter how lacking in good sense or good taste that speech maybe.
