Wilder and his key band of supporters fully realize that Ms. Terry’s veteran mentors, people like Del. Alson Smith, Sen. Hunter Andrews, lawyer-lobbyist Bill Thomas, et al, are going to be on the other side of the line from them when the time comes to choose up sides in 1994.
Given that reality, the hard-core Wilder constituency may give Ms. Terry lip service, but has no overriding political reason to work enthusiastically for her election.
