Frederick Hitt
Frederick William Hitt, 89, of Chestnut Ridge Farm, Rixeyville, died on Friday, July 2 at his residence.
Son of the late William Booton and Agnes Grimsley Hitt, he was a native of Edgemont at Castleton.
He was a farmer and a member of Oak Shade United Methodist Church at Rixeyville.
During the 1930s he lived in the Western United States and was employed at Yellowstone National Park.
He is survived by his wife, Maria Lucille Hitt, and two nieces, Carolyn Hitt of Williamsburg and Anne Kieter of Wilmington, Del.
Funeral services were held Sunday, July 4 at Geest-Johnson Funeral Home in Culpeper, with the Rev. Nancy White officiating, assisted by the Rev. Stephanie Bush.
Interment followed in the Hitt family cemetery at Chestnut Ridge Farm.
