East Germans with the gospel since such activity was outlawed years ago. They will not be without competition. “Through eastern Germany has a centuries-old tradition of Protestantism and Catholicism,” Hans observes, “years of spirtual isolation have weakend the region’s churches and most young people have drifted from the faith.” To attract this new generation of Germans seeking to find fulfillment in life, workers from numerous cults and obscure religious sects have begun working in the area as well.

While the challenges will be great, the opportunities for evangelism are wonderful. The gospel can now be shared unimpeded by government oppressions, with a combined German population of 78 million people. Hans and Dee are anxious to begin their work in eastern Germany. The public is invited to hear of the dramatic changes taking place and the open door for ministry during their missions presentation on July 11.
