A self-described “visionary colorist in the impressionsist fashion.” Having studied at The Corcoran School of Art in Washington, D.C. and The Maryland School of Art and Design, Canby has spent thirty years developing her unique expressions of color and light as energy. Many of her works incorporate sand so that the flat surface will reflect light from many angles.
While these works will be on display at Middle St. Gallery Fridays through Sundays during Sept, the public is invited to attend Canby’s Opening Reception from 4 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 11.
