Since Dr. Dearing’s retirement in 1969, he and Virginia reside in Huntly on their farm “Glenway” where he is still active in raising pure-bred black angus cattle at age 95.
The Dearings have been parishioners of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Front Royal for the past 25 years.
The Dearings also will celebrate their birthdays this month.
Willis will turn 95 on Aug. 28 while Virginia will turn 88 on Aug. 26.
As in past years, they will split the difference and celebrate on the 27th.
They said that they attribute their long-life to “God’s given genes.”
Dr. Dearing drives to Front Royal each morning, accompanied by Virginia, to attend Mass at 9 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church.
