ARCHITECTURAL REVIEW BOARD TOWN OF WASHINGTON, VIRGINIA PUBLIC NOTICE Beginning in October, 1994, The Architectural Review Board for Histone Resources within the Town of Washington, VA will hold regularly scheduled meetings on the second Thursday of each month, namely, October 13, 1994 at 7:30 p.m. in the Town Hall of Washington, Virginia. The meeting for September, 1994 will lie held as scheduled on September 15,1994 at 7:30 p.m. in the Town Hall. PUBLIC HEARING: PROPOSED AMENDMENT TO THE HEALTH CHAPTER OF THE RAPPAHANNOCK COUNTY CODE RELATING TO THE LAND APPLICATION OI SEWAGE SLUDGE On Monday, September 12, 1994, at 7:00 PM at the Rappahannock County High School Auditorium, the Rappahannock County Board ot Supervisors shall hold a public hearing, to consider adding a new chapter to the Rappahannock County Code titled "Health," numbered appropriately, to read as follows: The use of sludge for land application is prohibited in all Zoning Districts in Rappahannock County. This prohibited use shall include both surface and sub-surface application. The term "sludge" is defined to be any solid, semi-solid, or liquid waste generated from a public, municipal, commercial, private or industrial wastewater treatment plant, water supply treatment plant, any pollution control facility, or any other waste-producing facility, and includes treated sewage, stabilized sewage sludges and stabilized septage. This provision shall not apply to the otherwise lawful: i) incineration of sludge; or ii) disposal of sludge in an approved sanitary landfill. All interested persons are invited to attend and to make comment. Depending upon the number of attendees, speakers may be asked to sign up for an opportunity to speak, and the Chairman of the Board of Supervisors may limit speakers to 3-5 minutes speaking time.
