Mr. and Mrs. Ray Frazier and sons, Michael and Christopher accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Holtzman Frazier of Fredericksburg and Mrs. Alvin Atkins of Sperryville were in Martinsburg, W.Va. on Wednesday to attend a candle lighting memorial service for their late brother, Harold L. Frazier. Mrs. Atkins has the privilege of lighting the candle for her brother and concluding the service the candle was presented to her. The services were held in the Chapel of the Veterans Medical Center there and presented by the Chaplains including prayers, hymns, organ and piano selections, a message from God’s Word and lastly the candle ceremony.
As of the past Sunday operator Sam Lanham closed the Villiage Store at Griffinsburg but we have word the store will reopen on Thursday, Sept. 1 under new management.
Mr. and Mrs. Holtzman Frazier of Fredericksburg, Mrs. Alvin Atkins of Sperryville and Ray Frazier were Wednesday evening callers of Mr. and Mrs. Chriss Hetzer and Sarah Lynn at “Our Farm,” which was formerly the old Fraziers homeplace.
i Mrs. Pearl Creel down Salem way recently attended a birthday party for her brother party for her brother, James H. Scott at Golden Corral in Culpeper.
Birthday wishes go out to Mrs. Owen Cubbage who celebrates her day on Friday and to her neighbor, Timmy Webb who celebrates his big day on Sunday.
Auditions for the Windmore for Arts in their musical program of Godspell were held Sunday afternoon.
