Clint Woodward
Clint Lewis Woodward, 31, of Culpeper, formerly of Madison and Rappahannock, died Sunday, Aug. 28 in Fredericksburg.
He was bom June 7, 1963, in Charlottesville.
Mr. Woodward was a tree surgeon for Douglas Stringfellow in Culpeper and a member of Throufare Baptist Church in Madison.
Mr. Woodward is survived by his parents, Lewis Mack Woodward and step mother, Bernice L. Woodward of Washington and mother, Betsy Berry Woodward of Culpeper; two brothers, Curtis Lee Woodward of Ruckersville and Wayne Alan Woodward of Luray; one sister, Janet Marie Walker of King George and a half brother, John A. Lee Jr. of Culpeper.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, Aug. 31 at Preddy Funeral Home in Madison with interment in the Washington Masonic Cemetery.
Thomas Burke
Thomas Roscoe Burke, 84, of Front Royal died Friday, Aug. 26 at Warren Memorial Hospital in Front Royal.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday at the Maddox Funeral Home with the Rev. Wilfred Deppen.
Interment followed at Shenandoah'Memorial Park in Winchester.
Mr. Burke was bom April 28, 1910, in Rappahannock County, son of the late William Merriman and Dora Hawkins Burke.
His parents died when he was very young, he was raised by his grandparents, the late James A. and Sarah Burke.
He was a member of Five Forks Regular Baptist Church in Woodville. He was retired from Mountain View Grocery which he owned and operated for 33 years.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret Norman Burke; one daughter, Hazel B. Grove of Front Royal; one brother, Curtis Burke of Baltimore, Md. and one granddaughter, Mary Anna Grove Coons of Charlottesville.
Pallbearers were Daniel Norman, Richard Burke, Timothy Falls, James Falls, Richie Van Burke and J.D. Williams.
