More than half of the city dwellers live in cement apartments of a fairly ordinary, unimaginative design, and there are many new tall apartment buildings, such as one might see in America, on the outskirts of the city on rising ground. i
A book on Mongolia found on the train indicates that outside Ulan Bator accommodations are meager, but a private tourist-boosting company is encouraging people to undertake various sorts of specialy safari-like adventures, for instance, horseback riding tours.
