Mary Miller
Mary Russell Reid “Russie” Miller, 77, of Madison Heights, formerly of Flint Hill, died Wednesday, Jan. 24 at her home.
Funeral services were conducted Saturday, Jan. 27 at the Flint Hill United Methodist Church by the Rev. Merlin Shorb.
Burial was in Flint Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Miller was bom March 23, 1918, in Rappahannock County,' daughter of the late Charles and Brace ' Bradley Reid.
She retired as a senior executive ,
secretary for the. Selective Service | System and worked for the Rappahannock Health Department.
She was a member of the Home f Demonstration Club, Mental Health Association and the Flint Hill United ? Methodist Church, where she taught |
Sunday School, led the choir and was j organist for many years. ;
She was the wife of the late Paul Louis Miller, Sr.
Surviving are a daughter, Paula M. Howell of Madison Heights; a son, Paul Louis Miller, Jr. of Odenton, Md.
Also surviving are two brothers, j Joseph B. Reid of McLean and 1 Thomas B. Reid Sr. of Bartlesville, j Okla.; a sister, Gladys R. Bowie 6f J Culpeper, five grandchildren and one f great-grandchild.
L. B. Wayland
Lawrence Brown Wayland, 58, of Viewtown, died on Jan. 24 at Fauquier Hospital in Warrenton.
He was born April 7, 1937, in Washington, D.C. to the late Julian E. and Jessie B. Wayland.
Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Sherlean D. Wayland; one daughter, Kimberly L. Wayland August of Japan and one son, Sean E. Wayland of Charlottesville.
He is also survived' by one sister, Kathryn Hall of Front Royal; three brothers, James Wayland of Culpeper, Julian Wayland of Leesburg and Richard Wayland of Boston.
Additional survivors include two grandchildren, Jessanna and Koda August, both of Japan.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Wayland.
Funeral services were held oh Sunday; Jan. 28. at Found & Sons Chapel with the Rev. John Miller officiating. Interment followed in Fairview Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Paul Barrett, Clarence Dodson, Daniel Hitt,' Michael Switzer, Lariy E. Wayland and Larry E. Wayland, Jr.
Memorial contributions be made in his name to the Amissville Volunteer Fire department, Route 1 Box 47, Amissville, Va. 22002.
