The Planning Commission unanimously adopted a resolution opposing .the Sperryville bypass at its meeting last ' Wednesday.
The resolution will be sent On to VDOT and the Board of Supervisors. Chairman Mike Massie said he had hoped to deal with the issue along with the whole of the revised Comprehensive Plan, but ■'* VDOT has a primary road hearing scheduled for March 25 in Culpeper.

"P^TSOTsproposedplans as phi \ sented at their public informs- r ■ tional hearing on Feb. 12 at die Rappahannock County High School, recommends that there be no further study or planning of any connector, bypass, or any such project for Sperryville at this present time.
“Be it further resolved, that > any such project be studied by the county over'time, taking safety, local planning considers- 1 ’ . lions, as well as the wishes of the citizens of Rappahannock County into account,”
Planning , Commission member Tom Junk, who repre- ■ sents the SperryvDle area, said, } | “They took the Planning 0 Commission out of the loop. That kind of disappointed me.”
He made the motion to. adopt the resolution. “We need to make sure VDOT knows if they’re planning a road, we want to be involved in it,” he said. ■ , . li t
