Other problems needing resolved include a dispute between the Department of Information Technology and the social services department concerning system capacity and ownership plus the dispute between social services and the Department of Medical Assistance Services.
“We’re still at loggerheads over getting the Medicaid rules into a position where we can code them and make them a part of this system,” Mr Ragland said. “That means we’re still going through more than 1,200 pages of policy trying to decide whether the person can receive Medicaid or not.”
The executive also made it clear that without the ADAPT system, it would be virtually impossible to implement welfare reform as established by the legislature effective July 1,1995.
