Prayer

There is a little known support group all over this area that has no name, is seldom mentioned or discussed, yet is probably one of the most powerful. It is large, but no one knows how large.
It isn’t a secret society but no one knows who the members are. They are quiet, but not silent. There are no officers, rules, publicity, no age limits, includes all colors, creeds and those with no particular creed.
This group is active every day of the year, at all hours.
Who are these people? They are all those who care about, and pray for the sick and needy. Some are in churches, Bible classes, choir, study groups, prayer chains and prayer circles. Some are just people who care.
The only requirements for “mem- - bership” is to care, and pray, no questions asked.
Some of those who pray are inspired to help answer their prayers. They send a card or a note. Some send flowers, help feed cattle, shovel a path through the snow, bake a pie, share a pot of soup, fill the wood box, see the bird feeder is full, do some shopping for the sick. This brings them and others joy. No money is involved here, there are no dues of fees.
This group seeks no glory or even thanks, but since I have been a recent recipient of much of this care, I wish I could say Thank you to each one. I will never know who they are but must say “God loves you and I do too.”

Policies
To the Editor:
In response to the article about the school closings in last week’s Rappahannock News, I feel a need to respond.
It was mentioned that the geographical landscape is, so unique it makes it different fiom other areas. I disagree; Fauquier, Culpeper and Warren counties have road conditions identical to Rappahannock County. “Mountains, hollows, foggy dips, and windswept hills” are not unique to our county. Yet on several occasions the surrounding counties have scheduled school on days when Rappahannock County schools were closed and when the road conditions were indeed identical.
Secondly, in neighboring counties when the weather is questionable, some counties have a “hard surface road only” policy. For example, in Warren County their snow emergency plan includes this policy, and on occasion an additional rider .that states “no bus service in Linden.” This policy
