Sheriff Gary Settle and Major Rick MacWelch of the Sheriff’s Office want to alert businesses that checks bearing the name Richard W. Woodward, with a Remington address, are being passed in the county on a closed account.
The checks are drawn on a Central Fidelity Bank account in Culpeper which has been closed for some time. Major MacWelch said that numerous checks have been passed at country stores in Rappahannock, mostly during the month of February. If anyone has checks from this person, please call the Sheriffs Office.
The Virginia State Police investigated two traffic accidents in the county this past week.
