Planning Commission Chairman Mike Massie said, “I would like to compliment the bank for being honest with us.” He said other owners have tried to claim their plans would benefit the county rather than admitting they are trying to make money.
In discussing the issue among themselves the planners considered delaying action until Mr. Leake could discuss with the bank's board of directors making certain concessions in order to win approval.
