Story Hour Underway
The Rappahannock County Library story hour for pre-school children, ages 2 to 5, is underway and will continue 10:30 a.m. on Tuesdays through May.
The programs of songs, finger plays, and a story will last about thirty minutes. Children will need to be accompanied by an adult No pre-registration is necessary.
Democratic Committee To Meet
On Friday, March 8 at 7:30 p.m. at the Courthouse in Washington, the entire Rappahannock County Democratic Committee will meet. Guest speakers will be Leslie Byrne, who is running for the Democratic nomination for U.S. Senate, and a representative of the Mark Warner for U.S. Senate campaign. The public is invited.
Rappahannock Soccer League would like to complete registration by the end of February, so don’t delay! Registration questions can be answered by Lorinda Bosch at 636-3580 or Susan Parrish at 675-1300.
Survivors Group To Hold Meeting
The Love and Laughter Cancer Survivors Group will hold a meeting at 1;30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 6 at the Flint Hill Fire Hall. For additional information call Esther at 675-3252.
RAAC On Tour
RAAC, Rappahannock Association for the Arts and the Community will sponsor a “Museum of Your Choice” day trip, weather permitting, to Washington, D.C. on Saturday, March 2.
A sample of shows currently at the Washington museums: “The Ashcan artists and Their New York,” Museum of American Art; “Landscape Kimonos by Itchiku Kubota,” Natural History Museum; “Liberation ‘45,” U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum; “Weston’s California and the West,” Phillips Collection; and “The New American Ghetto”at the National Building Museum. Participants will be taken to their museum of choice in the morning and will meet at a central location in the evening.
Vans will leave the Trinity church parking lot at 8 a.m. and return about 8 p.m. The charge for travel will be $10 per person. Sandwiches and soft drinks will be available for the ride home at a cost of $5. Mail checks with address and phone number to RAAC, P.O. Box 24, Washington, Va. 22747 by Feb. 21. Dance at Amissville
Amissville Volunteer Fire and Rescue Company will sponsor a dance from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. on Saturday, March 16. the band will be Laredo. You must be at least 21 years of age to enter. ID is required. Proper dress code is also required, (no t-shirts, no holes in jeans and shirts must have a collar.) For more information call Shelia Scott at 937-4357.
Vehicle Donations Sought
Donations of wrecked and broken down vehicles are needed for an upcoming Fire and Rescue Squad extrication Course. If you4iave any cars or trucks large or small that you could donate for tax deductions, please call the Rappahannock-Rapidan Emergency Medical Services Council Office at 825-6849.
Support Croup To Meet

Volunteers NeededTrained
Hospice of the Rapidan is currently recruiting volunteers in preparation for their spring training program which will begin March 11. Volunteer coordinator Martha Sukites invites you to meet her at the Rappahannock County Library between the hours of 2 and 6 p.m. Tuesday, March 5 to learn about the volunteer program. Literature and volunteer application forms will be available.
