The WSA members decided to postpone makihg a decision on the valves until the fifth member Charles K. “Pete” Estes is present.
Mr. Johnson said some of the problems are the responsibility of the property owners and some are the WSA’s problems. He said Mr. Jenkin$ was hired to work three days a week on system maintenance, but he had not been able to do that because he is needed at the plant.
He said if the work had been done on those six properties it might not have been necessary to put in a surge basin.
The WSA’ has been authorized to borrow $97,600 at 4.75 percent for 20 years to install a surge basin.
Mr. Johnson said there are other advantages to having the basin and the WSA will have to put it in but can argue against a larger basin if these inflow problems can be fixed.
The authority agreed to pay half of the $24,000 it owes the county for salaries at the plant now and to wait until after the next billing cycle before paying the other half.
