The brief pre-midnight wintertime celebration under a tent is designed to enable families and guests to drive to Great Meadow after any earlier dinners and parties. Commemorative gifts and refreshments will be provided.
Gates will open free to all at 11 p.m. for festivities including a special new Fauquier history exhibit at the stroke of the change of the century. In the event of snow or other bad weather, the celebration will take place on Saturday, Jan. 1 beginning at 7 p m. For more information phone Great Meadow at 540-253-5000
Hospital to offer class
Warren Memorial Hospital will offer a National Safety Council first aid class for the community on Monday, Jan. 10 at 5:30 p.m. For more information or to register for the class, contact the Education Department at 636-0318.
Friday dinners planned
On Friday, Dec. 31 the Culpeper American Legion Post 330, located just north of the Culpeper High School on Route 229 is continuing Friday night dinners beginning with Dec. 31 for all members, friends and guests of the Legion. All you can eat dinner is served from 6 until 8 p.m. The public is always invited. Meal cost are $5 for members and $6.50 for non-members and $3.50 for children under 12.
