A woman was driving in Gid Brown Hollow on Dec. 21 at 5:30 when a car with its high beams on surprised her coming around a bend in her lane. The oncoming car swerved to avoid her, sideswiped the car, and continued away from the scene of the accident. No injuries were reported and the reckless driver was not apprehended.
Deputy Roger Jenkins is investigating a larceny that occurred on Route 626 near Scrabble. A woman reported that she had given a man permission to cut trees on a certain area of her property. But he went to another part of her land and cut down five coffee wood trees. The incident was reported on Dec. 23 at 2 p.m.
