F&M Bank
Jean Kresge, manager of the F&M bank in Flint Hill confirms that the bank is Y2K compliant. Arrangements have been made for a New Year’s Day analysis of all systems by staff members.
Kresge says, “I don’t’ think anyone should be alarmed, because their money is there. We’ll have a hard copy of everything. No one is going to lose their money. If they owe money, we will also retain that record.”
If there are any problems, such as a power outage, the F&M branch in Front Royal will be open on Jan. 1, mainly to ensure people that everything is okay.
School System
Holly Pendleton will be working on Jan. 1 and 3 to make sure the school system is operating correctly. He has found the system to be Y2K compliant in that “it correctly processes date data within and between the twentieth and twenty-first centuries.”
He reports that all crucial computer systems are compliant, letters of compliance have been received from embedded systems vendors, and classroom and lab computers have also checked out.
Furthermore, Pendleton says, “As near as we can tell, we’re ready and we’re looking forward to it.”
