to apply before
Jan. 21 for aid
Rappahannock County has been approved for the Livestock Assistance Program. Eligible livestock producers must have suffered a 40 percent or greater loss of normal grazing production for 90 or more consecutive days during 1999. Producers must file an application certifying to the number of eligible livestock and the number of grazing acres. Eligible livestock must have been owned for at least three months.
Sign up ends on Jan. 21. Because a specific amount of money has been appropriated for the program a national payment factor will be determined after all applications have been received. All interested producers should contact the Farm Service Agency Office at 351 Lakeside DriVe, in Culpeper or by telephone’at 825-4200.
