Fresh paint is going on the Amoco filling station at Washington, formerly the Lee Highway Garage, to have this business re-opened March 15, according to a statement made yesterday. The business is to be opened by Ernest Dupree, a resident of Florida for the past/year. An advertisement appeared ai>nouncing that Miss Elizabeth Racer is now a beautician at Watts Beauty Parlor in Washington. M^ss Racer graduated Feb. 24, 1950 from Vocational Beauty School, Greensboro, N.C. and is well qualified in all the latest styles of hair styling, permanent waves and scalp care. Just dial: Washington 2371. Red Cross workers and district goals in the 1950 Red Cross drive have been announced. Ibtal goal for Rappahannock chapter is $625 and Rev. M.E. Sliger is fund raising chairman.
•Three Boy Scout patrols of the Rappahannock Boy Scout .Troop have been organized in the county. Due to the problems of transportation, it was decided to have troops located M Sperryville with Rev. A. Paul Thompson as director; Gerald Hicks and D.C. Link as directors at Washington; and Paul L. Miller, C.B. Wood and Rev. Norman J. Flythe as leaders at Flint Hill. Mrs. Gilbert Updike has been appointed local chairman for .the town of Washington in the cancer drive to begin April 1.
