there is much to see and do, most of it outdoors.
The cities are spic and span, more so than any I have ever seen. Particularly Christ Church with the classic River Avon running right through the center of town.
The Southwest end of the South Island is in a class by itself, scenery (the Southern Alps), and sports (skiing, aquatics of all sorts) abound.
In the Antarctic Museum at Christ Church a disturbing theme is revealed. It seems the ozone barrier is being depleted, permitting more sunlight to play on the Antarctic Ice Cap. One can only wonder how far this process will proceed.
