The girls basketball season at Wakefield Country Day ^School came to a very successfill conclusion after a loss to perennial power house Fredericksburg Christian Academy for a third place fin'.ish in the challenging Delaney ; Athletic Conference. The season included three wins against "rival Wakefield, Inc., Marshall and the first playoff victory in • WCDS girls basketball history. • ► The team was led by outstanding ninth grader • Maureen Dale of Luray who .scored over 250 points and „ established her all around game for years to come; ninth grader Mandee Judd of Front Royal, one of the most talented female athletes in the school’s history, spearheaded an unrelenting defense that often held opponents, scoreless for an entire quarter; and ninth grader Whitney Matthews of Flint Hill, a first year starter proved to be a ferocious rebounder at both ends of the court.
