Youth Alive to meet

Shooting matches at Castleton

The Castleton Community Volunteer Fire Department will j hold shooting matches every Saturday at 3 p.m. at their building. ; Rules are: 12 gauge shotgun, no scopes, no sleeves and limit to * 30 inch barrels. Food will be sold at the matches.

Workshop scheduled

A Super Sitters 4-H workshop will be held on Saturday, March 11 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Rappahannock Extension Office. A minimum of five people must sign up or this workshop will be canceled. The workshop is geared toward teens between the ages of 12 and 19 and will teach them about proper babysitting, first aid for children and proper foods for children. Call the ; Extension Office at 675-3619 to sign up as soon as possible.

Hunt Country Auction planned

The Wakefield Parents’ Association is planning its first Hunt Country Auction to be held Saturday, March 25 at 6:30 p.m. in the school’s gymnasium. The auction will consist of “live” and “silent” auction items, a light supper catered by The Red Fox Inn, and music provided by Rappahannock. Cocktail attire is recommended. Tickets to the Hunt Country Auction cost $30 in advance and $40 at the door. Sponsor tables for eight guests are I also available for purchase. All auction proceeds will directly benefit Wakefield School and its students.

Bands to perform for benefit

The Usual Suspects will be performing at a benefit dance to help aid a family who lost their home as a result of a tragic fire. Local band, Cross Roadz has coordinated the event for the family, and asked The Usual Suspects and another local band, Brown Bag Special, to participate in the benefit concert.

The benefit, to be held at the American Legion, in Culpeper, is located on Route 229 just North of the town of Culpeper, past Culpeper County High School. The benefit will be held Saturday, March 18 from 6:30 until midnight and is sponsored by American Legion and Ladies Auxiliary Post #330. All are invited to attend.
