The Rappahannock Lions Club in conjunction with the ; j American Chestnut Cooperators’ Foundation will be distributing American Chestnut seedlings at the Rappahannock Farmers’ Coop on Saturday, March 11 from 7 a.m. until noon, A small donation to the Lions Club is requested to offset the cost of the ’ “free" seedlings.

A benefit breakfast sponsored by the Amissville Volunteer J Fire and Rescue Squad will be held on Saturday, March 18 from I 7 a.m. until 11:30 p.m. Cost is $6 for adults; children 6-12 will be \ charged $3 and under six will be served free. Door prizes will be ■* drawn every hour. \

Dog Obedience workshop slated j

There will be a 4-H Dog Obedience Workshop at the Child } Care and Learning Center pavilion on Sunday, March 12 from 2 until 4 p.m. If you are between the ages of 9 and 19 and would like to attend this workshop and other workshops to be held throughout the spring, call the Extension Office at 675-3619 to sign up.These workshops are being sponsored by the 4-H Dog Club. Th ey will also sponsor a Dog Show later in the spring.

Gateway meeting slated

The Sperryville Gateway group will meet on Thursday, March 16 at 7 p.m. at the Sperryville fire hall. All interested persons are invited to attend.

Drama production for homeschoolers

There will be a children’s play production put on at Ki Theater on Sunday, April 2. Two roles are, as yet, unfilled. Any interested Rappahannock homeschooled students who would like to participate, please call Carol Lucking at 987-3352 or Rosalie Lysaght at 675-3150. Rehearsals are held at the Rappahannock Library Fridays at 10:30 a m.

Parenting skill class to begin

Rappahannock Family Guidance Services is offering a tenweek series focusing on Effective Parenting Skills for Parents of School Aged Children. Classes will be held every Tuesday beginning March 21 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Call 675-3329 for information.
